TEXTURED CERAMIC MUG

This is one of my all-time favorite alcohol ink techniques using cling wrap. It’s extremely easy and the results always make me smile. You can add extra touches of gold to really bring a wow factor to this finished piece. This technique looks great on trinket bowls too.

1. Tear off a piece of cling wrap and set aside. Begin with the same process as the previous ceramic vessel technique and drop several colors around the mug until covered. (Don’t worry about smudges inside or on the top of the mug as it will be wiped clean in the final step.) Apply a generous amount of blending solution or alcohol around the mug. While still wet, quickly apply the cling wrap around the entire mug, mashing the cling wrap until the colors are blended nicely. Add more inks under the wrap if needed. Create mini pockets of air by pressing and moving the cling wrap until you see trapped alcohol form into intricate patterns. Leave the mug standing and do not touch for 24 hours.
